Bout for Quiz Bee and Spelling Bee challenge relaunched
The tandem bee is back! Quiz bee and spelling bee back-to-back competitions have been part of the school’s thrust to develop learner’s enthusiasm for knowledge and motivation for academic excellence.
Held quarterly a year, this power duo aims to sharpen students’ minds in academics and spelling ability.
Learners are grouped into 3 groups with elementary and junior high school students combined together. Each group has to appoint a leader and assistant leader.
Everyone in the group is encouraged to work hard each round of quiz bee and spelling bee in order to be declared group champions at the end of the school year.
Aside from the group completion, each student likewise competes individually. The individual winners for Spelling Bee will be awarded the title, “Best Speller of the Year” while the student who garnered the highest overall score in specific subject (Araling Panlipunan, Science, English, Mathematics, and Filipino) will be awarded “BEST in subject” at the end of the school year.
The bout for Spelling Bee consisted of 20 spelling words per quarter (spelling words vary in difficulty according to grade level). Furthermore, student must be able to write the word correctly in a given time without using contractions (writing words in shortened form in Braille).
Quiz Bee, on the other hand, comprised of 5 questions per subject area for each grade level. The student must choose and write his/her answer in a specified time.
Individual and group, the one that earned the highest score are recognized on the recognition day and awarded with certificate and medal for their excellent performance.
More than the awards and recognition, PNSB learners have increased in knowledge, learned the value of teamwork and camaraderie, and have cultivated a love for learning.
