Project REVIVE strengthens access to skills-based education for learners with visual impairment by introducing non-visual, adaptive subjects such as Digital Content Creation and Audio Broadcasting. These programs help students build practical, creative, and marketable digital skills.
Developed by the Philippine National School for the Blind in collaboration with its partner agency, Project REVIVE expands SHS vocational tracks to include Music Production, General Audio Transcription, and Digital Multimedia Content Creation. With trained teachers, accessible tools, and industry support, it prepares learners for further studies, employment, and meaningful participation in the digital world.
Project TANAW is an outreach initiative of St. Benilde created for the Philippine National School for the Blind. It focuses on building genuine connection, support, and collaboration between Benildean volunteers and PNSB learners through creative, meaningful, and inclusive activities.
The project highlights empowerment, visibility, and opportunities for students with visual impairment—giving them space to learn, express, and showcase their talents with confidence. (And nope—“TANAW” doesn’t have an official acronym meaning; it’s used as a metaphor for “looking forward,” “seeing beyond,” and “vision with purpose.”
During COVID-19, the Philippine National School for the Blind continued providing education for its 164 visually impaired learners through accessible distance learning. The school aimed to ensure all students could participate fully using assistive technologies and inclusive online platforms.
Teachers, students, and parents were trained to use braille-transcribed modules and specialized learning tools. With support from the community and stakeholders, PNSB successfully completed the 2020–2021 school year while upholding its mission of “Education for All.”
Project KAPIT is an intervention program that boosts students’ interest and participation in learning beyond the usual classroom setup. Since remote learning came with big challenges—like financial limits, mental and emotional stress, and unstable learning environments—the project used research and constant communication with families to pinpoint the real issues and offer practical solutions.
Because of this, learner attendance and engagement in distance learning significantly improved. The project’s success came from strong teamwork among the school, families, and external partners, turning KAPIT into a standout best practice that not only pulled students back into active learning but also strengthened collaboration and commitment across the community.
Project INSPIRE is a school initiative focused on strengthening partnerships with stakeholders through its 3Rs strategy. These partners play a crucial role in providing specialized learning support for visually impaired learners—especially by helping produce Braille and large-print modules from Kindergarten to Grade 12. These materials were delivered nationwide during the pandemic, ensuring students still received accessible, high-quality education. Thanks to the dedication of its partners, PNSB sustained equitable learning for all VI learners even in the toughest times.
PNSB’s flagship reading intervention, Project REBIRTH, was created to address the massive reading gaps caused by the shift to remote learning in SY 2020–2021. The school rolled out an enhanced Hybrid Version, designed so reading support could continue even during distance learning. Thanks to strong teamwork from both internal and external stakeholders, the project pushed through despite the challenges.
The results speak for themselves: learners moved from frustration level to instructive, with some even reaching independent reading level. Project REBIRTH continues its mission to ensure every child becomes a reader — no one left behind.
